Sony TV, Action and Boss joins Kapil Bandwagon

Post-Wisden with a mantle of Indian Cricketer of the Century resting on his shoulders, Kapil Dev is making the best of his resurrection. Dev has bagged four new endorsement contracts and is negotiating a couple more. The Prudential World Cup hero is back in demand.

The latest to sign on the cricketing legend as their brand ambassador is Kinetic Engineering Ltd, which launched its Boss range of motorcycles in Pune on Thursday. Sony TV and Action are among the others who have joined the Kapil bandwagon.

Kinetic is banking on Kapil’s rugged-hardworking-fit-and-successful persona rubbing off on the bike’s personality especially when he says ‘Boss Mein Dum Hai’ to a prospective bike owner. Both Kapil and Firodia-Motwani refused to disclose the details of the deal.

The entire campaign is pegged at Rs 15 crore is all that she would say. Apart from press and TV ads, Kapil would also be interacting with people especially the youth from the Kinetic platform.

The bike has been aggressively priced at Rs 30,555 ex-showroom in Pune and Rs 31,999 in the rest of the country. The company expects to sell around 16,000 units this year and 75,000 units in the next 12 months.
