Samar Singh Sheikhawat, the veteran marketing head of United Breweries Ltd (UBL) has resigned citing personal reasons. His last day at UBL, the makers of Kingfisher beer, was July 31.
Sheikhawat told in certain sections of media that he is considering various offers and will take a decision soon. Till then, he will be based in Bengaluru. UBL is yet to name Sheikhawatâs successor.
Under Sheikhawatâs eight-year tenure as chief marketing officer, UBL launched several variants, including Kingfisher Storm and brought several brands from its Dutch parent Heineken NVâs stable to India.
Before UBL, Sheikhawat was instrumental in developing the Tropicana brand when he was the general manager of marketing at PepsiCo. He has also had stints at Dabur and Spencerâs.
