Pitch Top 50 Brands panelists to discuss the 'Purpose of Branding'

With the Pitch Top 50 Brands gala evening is just round the corner, exchange4media has announced the theme of this year’s edition—“Branding a Purpose versus Purpose of Branding”. The event will take place on 13 August this year at Hotel Leela Ambience, Gurgaon.

To key highlights of the event will be a special address by Amarjit Batra of OLX. exchange4media will also host a panel discussion around the theme of the event which will be moderated by Avik Chattopadhyay, Brand Strategy Firm Expereal. The panel will comprise of industry veterans like Gaurav Mehta of OLX, Apurva Chamaria of HCL Technologies, Sanjay Singal of Dabur, Kaacon Sethi of DB Corp and Vikas Varma of Music Fatafatti.

The panelists will answer one of the most thought provoking issues of the day - why are Indian brands still shying away from the purpose driven mantra which has proved to be successful in the customer driven economy world over? While the brands worldwide have adopted the mantra of sustainable, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or cause marketing in addition to the purpose of making profit, where are Indian brands headed as these brands still hesitate to tell a story, build their teams and define their culture?

With the increasing importance of managing the brands reputation, the panel will analyse, how imperative is it for brands to identify the core purpose so that their worth doesn’t get undermined where isolated incidents raise questions of integrity in today’s competitive world.

Pitch Top 50, an annual property of Pitch aims to acknowledge the impactful, efficient and commendable marketing practices being upheld by the top five brands in the 10 listed categories for which a rigorous three tier process of short listing is undertaken.
