Patanjali & Amazon join hands to target Bengaluru and Mangaluru markets

Patanjali Ayurved has partnered with Amazonbusiness.in, the business-to-business (B2B) platform of e-commerce giant Amazon where the latter could become the wholesaler of its products in Bengaluru and Mangaluru.

This association will benefit retailers from these two Southern cities to order Patanjali products at their preferred time and get door-step deliveries, courtesy Amazon’s delivery service. Now Patanjali Ayurved’s varied range of products (from food products like ghee, biscuits to cosmetics and toothpaste) will be accessible to retailers in these two cities. This move is taken up by Pittie Group, Patanjali Ayurved’s pan-India and Mumbai distributor.

According to media reports Amazon believes this partnership will benefit Patanjali as it will help them reach out to a large set of retailers, who otherwise would not have been able to access their products through the existing distribution channels.

Distribution of Patanjali’s products takes place through 80 stockists and 2,000-3,000 distributors. The Haridwar-based company also has 1,200 Chikitsalyas and 7,000 Arogya and Swadeshi Kendras, which it plans to double in FY17.

Launched less than a year ago, Amazonbusiness.in serves as wholesaler of several products ranging from stationery, housekeeping supplies, kitchen, health, F&B and others to retailers.
