MobiKwik’s Suresh Vaidyanathan to join UCWeb India as Head Corporate Affairs

Suresh Vaidyanathan, Director of Communications, MobiKwik is all set to take up a new role as Head Corporate Affairs, UCWeb India, Alibaba Mobile Business Group. Highly placed industry sources have confirmed this development.
At mobile wallet major, MobiKwik, Vaidyanathan was responsible for external communications and government relations. Prior to joining MobiKwik in March 2017, Vaidyanathan was Communication Head of Twitter India.
It must be mentioned that Alibaba Group-owned mobile business platform UCWeb recently launched its mobile marketing platform UC Ads in India. Businesses will now be able to utilise UC Ads’ content marketing solutions to reach users across platforms such as UC Browser, UC News and 9Apps.
In another significant development this year, Alibaba announced that it will invest Rs 200 crore over the next 2 years into UCWeb’s India and Indonesia operations. The funds will be used to support UC News features, which includes news aggregation as well the blogging platform integrated within UC News. This is UCWeb’s second investment into the country, after it earlier invested a part of $170 million in 2013 for global expansion in countries, including India.
With around two decades of experience in telecom and digital industry, Vaidyanathan has earlier been part of the communication teams of Tata Teleservices and Huawei.
