KFC sponsors West Indies team for ICC Champions Trophy 2006

KFC will be the sponsor of the West Indies cricket team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2006. The event is being held for the first team in India from October 7 to November 5 this year.

Sandeep Kohli, Managing Director - Indian Subcontinent, Yum Restaurants International, said, “In a country where cricket is a passion, almost a religion, we are excited that we are sponsoring the talented West Indians for the ICC Champions Trophy. The combination of cricket and finger licking food is one of the best ways to contribute to the festive season for our customers, to delight them and bring them back for more fun and finger licking food.”

Kohli further said, “We have plans to expand our chain of restaurants. In Delhi we currently have four restaurants. We will be increasing to nine restaurants by end of this year in Delhi and NCR. We also to plan to foray into 10 cities by the year-end.”

Arvind Mediratta, Chief Marketing Office, Yum! Restaurants International, said, “The KFC Chicken Bucket has brought barrels of fun to family picnics, parties, reunions and everyday meals worldwide. Now customers in India can not only take home and enjoy the unique taste of KFC’s Chicken Bucket at a special price, but also win a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet select members of the charismatic West Indies cricket team and a chance to get special bats autographed by the entire team.”

As part of KFC’s ‘Bucket Mein Cricket’ promo, on the purchase of every chicken in a bucket meal for Rs 199, customers will get a coupon, while a Rs 299 chicken in a bucket meal will fetch two coupons. There will be a lucky draw of these coupons, wherein 50 lucky winners will get the opportunity to lunch with the West Indian cricket team. A further 10 winners will receive an original cricket bat autographed by the entire team.

KFC customers across Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore can participate in this contest.
