Kaya Skin Clinic to expand to South

Kaya Skin Clinic, Marico Industries' venture into skincare business, is all set to tap the burgeoning demand for quality services and set up its branded clinics in key cities in south India in the next six months.

The first stop for Kaya, which has outlets in Mumbai, Delhi and Dubai, will be Bangalore next month, followed by Hyderabad and Chennai in the next six months. "By the end of the current financial year, we plan to add at least 15 more clinics in metros and mini metros across the country to add to the 15 existing units," said Mr Rakesh Pandey, CEO. The company has invested an estimated Rs 20 crore in the venture till date, and will pump in an additional Rs 15 crore - Rs 18 crore by the year-end when the rollout will be completed, he said.

Mr Pandey, in Pune for the inauguration of the company's skin clinic, said plans were being firmed up for a second clinic here in the next few months.

Kaya Skin Clinic offers a range of customised services for skin improvement and treatment under the supervision of cosmetologists and dermatologists. Services include skin polishing and brightening, acne/pigmentation reduction, face and eye rejuvenation, hydration , anti-ageing treatment and permanent hair reduction.

"A clear, flawless skin is the most attractive aspect of an individual's appearance and with almost every one aspiring for this, the market for high quality services in this space is huge," Mr Pandey said. "Thirty percent of our clients is male who come in for treatment like acne reduction and skin hydration. A large portion of our clients are repeat customers," he added.

Mr Pandey said that with increased aspirational living and stress of a fast paced life, the demand for skin and eye rejuvenation was very high.

"But demand is also picking up for services like non-surgical face-lifts, wrinkle removal through botox and fillers. Botox (commercial name for botulinum toxin A - used in treatment of wrinkles). We want to offer other value-added services like full-arms and legs polishing and de-tanning," he said.
