Impact Person Of The Year: Which Of These Predictions Will Come True Tonight?
The stage is set for the announcement of the 13th IMPACT Person of the Year at a grand ceremony at ITC Parel, Mumbai this evening. But before that, industry leaders play the guessing game, and tell us who among the eight eminent nominees would win the IMPACT Person of the Year 2017 award.
PIYUSH PANDEY, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR, SOUTH ASIA OGILVY & MATHER INDIA
There are a number of illustrious people on the shortlist for the IMPACT Person of the Year â but if I go by the word Impact, you can love him, you can hate him but you canât beat Baba Ramdev. He has shaken up the market, but I am not predicting how long it is going to last or how well it will do, but he did make an impact on the entire industry. Whether he wins or not, I have no idea, but for me he is the IMPACT Person of the Year.
PRATAP BOSE, CHAIRMAN, THE SOCIAL STREET
My vote would go to Amitabh Kant. He has done a splendid job with NITI Aayog and if there is a second winner then I would probably bet on Baba Ramdev. He is such an iconic figure in marketing right now and he has been in the spotlight for a long period of time. So since you havenât yet given it to him, maybe you might just choose to give it to him this year.
DR A. VELUMANI, CHAIRMAN AND MANAGING DIRECTOR, THYROCARE TECHNOLOGIES
It should be Baba Ramdev. Patanjali has established itself as a very powerful brand, taking on a lot of multi-national companies. The last five-year journey of Patanjali is very inspiring for any Make in India, patriotic brain and he has managed to gain a fairly big market size. He has been very impressive. Some of his products have faced some criticism but I think that is always there whenever somebody is growing fast. He should be the IMPACT Person of The Year.
AJAI JHALA, CEO, BBDO INDIA
My choice for the IMPACT Person of the Year is Bhavish Aggarwal of Ola for the simple reason that he is helping transform Indiaâs economy by moving people from an informal economy to a formal economy which is an absolutely critical need for India to become an economic super-power.
AMER JALEEL, CHAIRMAN AND CCO, MULLEN LINTAS
Just in terms of impact, I would say definitely Prasoon (Joshi). We all know about Prasoon the advertiser, but I believe he has now reached a place where he can really influence through the medium of films a lot more than his advertising could ever influence. So, yes for me, itâs Prasoon.
So who will finally emerge winner? Well, we will know in a matter of hours! The IMPACT Person of the Year 2017 will be announced tonight at a function at the ITC Grand Central, Parel, Mumbai presided over by Chief Guest, the Honourable Governor of Maharashtra, Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao.
