Delhi to get first Wedding Souk this year

Delhi will get the first Wedding Souk this year. Aerens Gold Souk International Limited and Aeren RJ Group have announced the launch of the souk, which will be located at Pitampura. It will be a one-stop-shop for all the wedding-related goods and services.

The souk will have retail outlets of international and national brands for wedding clothes and garments, accessories, jewellery, footwear, consumer durables and furniture. It will also provide outlets for wedding services such as card printers, caterers, florist, band, decorators, travel agents, beauticians, wedding planners and event management firms among others.

The souk will spread over an area of one acre, with covered area of 1 lac sq ft. It will have over 100 shops with sizes ranging from 300-1500 sq.ft. However, the anchor stores will have 2000 sq.ft area. It will be inaugurated by November this year.

“We are the first to introduce the concept of speciality mall in India with Gold Souk in Gurgaon covering 180,000 square feet of shopping space. This is now being followed with the first Wedding Souk in Delhi. This is only the beginning as we will have many more firsts to our credit with a network of speciality malls,” said Surinder K Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, Aerens Gold Souk International.

Rajesh Aeren, Vice Chairman of Aeren RJ Group, said that these malls are promoted as concept destination malls with speciality themes. He also referred to similar initiatives for building material and interiors/ furnishing related speciality mall coming up at Faridabad called Interiorz, promoted by the Group.

Referring to the Pan-India presence with the speciality malls, Amit Gupta, Vice Chairman, Aerens Gold Souk International, said, “We are planning ten more speciality malls for jewellery and wedding-related products across the country. Each of this speciality mall will be a landmark by itself and the retailers in these malls will get an opportunity to increase their client base and expand their retailing business.”

The mall is designed by leading architect Hefeez Contractor and the complex will provide the necessary ambience, convenience and quality services for shoppers of different age groups with speciality food courts, restaurants, kid play areas, ATMs, etc.

Elaborating on the continuous marketing efforts, G S Pillai, Director Aerens Gold Souk, said that the Wedding Souk will organise regular events, musical evenings, fashion shows, celebrity events, and festive celebrations during Diwali, Dusshera, Id, Christmas to ensure year-long footfalls and high conversions.
