Colgate Palmolive India has seen a 24.51 per cent drop in its Q2 FY14 profit after tax to Rs 109.52 crore, as compared to profit after tax of Rs 145.08 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
On the other hand, net sales were up at Rs 895.69 crore for Q2 FY14, as against Rs 773.77 crore in Q2 FY13, an increase of 16 per cent.
For H1 FY14, Colgate Palmolive India has reported net profit after tax of Rs 294.7 crore. Net sales for the company were up 15 per cent at Rs 1,740.3 crore for the half year ended September 30, 2013.
During the second quarter, the company achieved a volume growth of 10 per cent, led by a 9 per cent growth in the toothpaste category, wherein the company further enhanced its leadership position by registering a 56.0 per cent volume market share for January-September 2013 as compared to 54.6 per cent in January-September 2012. The flagship brands Colgate Dental Cream, Active Salt, Max Fresh and Colgate Total, along with the recently launched Visible White have contributed to this consistent growth.
