Bose targets Chennai music buffs

On the trail of an expansion drive, Bose Corporation has opened its Chennai office for Professional Systems Division in T Nagar and the first Chennai Bose Store in Ispahani Centre. The office would cater to audio-video requirements for professional spaces while the store would offer products for the home segment namely the lifestyle range, wave systems, speaker systems and multimedia offerings.

With the Chennai outlet, Bose would now have six stores in the country. The Ispahani Centre was chosen to give the store a good frontage. The Centre has about 54,000 sq ft of retail space and offers high visibility on the Nungambakkam High Road – home to brands like Hidesign, Swarovski, Archies, Café Coffee Day and Indigo Nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Ratish Pandey, General Manager, Bose Corporation India, said, “Bose has always been at the forefront of offering the very best in the audio technology that the world has to offer.”

Why Chennai? Replies, Pandey, “The Chennai consumer scores high on being a music lover, which came through strongly during our Bose connect programme over the past year. The retail segment in Chennai is also on the upsurge and hence we thought it would be appropriate to have a Bose store and office at this point in time.”

Talking about the Professional Systems Division, Pandey said, “ Our approach in professional systems has been to ensure that our systems deliver quality no matter where and how they are used. For this purpose, through our proprietary tools, the modeler, the auditioner and the demonstration tools, we design and deliver a solution that is guaranteed to yield the expected results.” Bose’s clientele includes The MRC convention Centre, AMM School Auditorium, Music World Stores, Landmark, Chola Sheraton, Residency Towers etc.

Bose Corporation was founded in 1964 by Dr Amar G Bose, a professor of electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Today, the group has 18 subsidiaries, eight manufacturing outfits and records annual sales of over $ 1.6 billion. Bose Corporation India was founded in 1995. The Indian wing has Professional Systems Division offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata. In October 1998, the first Bose store was opened in Delhi followed by Mumbai, Gurgaon and Bangalore.
