BARC Week 7: Reckitt Benckiser breaks Hindustan Lever’s monopoly over Top 10 Advertisers

In the seventh week of 2018 (February 10-16,) FMCG brand Reckitt Benckiser India dethroned Hindustan Lever to take over the Top 10 Advertisers with 1,16,976 insertions while the latter slipped to second spot with 97,787 insertions.

This is the first time in a long time that another advertiser has overtaken Lever which has been leading the category. Procter & Gamble and Cadbury India retained its third and fourth spot with 35,773 and 28,205 insertions respectively.

Colgate Palmolive India continued to move up to fifth spot with 20,537 insertions. This displaced Brooke Bond Lipton, Lalitha Jewellery India and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter Ltd. to sixth, seventh and eighth spot with 10,102, 19,744 and 18,898 insertions respectively. ITC Ltd. on the other hand, climbed to ninth spot with 18,782 insertions which brought Godrej Consumer Products down to tenth spot with 15,657 insertions.

Lalitha Jewellery continued to lead Top 10 Brands on the seventh week with 19,744 insertions. Lizol, Dettol Liquid Soap entered the category at second and third spot with 12,701 and 11,621 insertions respectively. Harpic 10X and Harpic Power Plus/ Bathroom Cleaner took the fourth and fifth spot with 11,081 and 10,326 insertions respectively.

Santoor Sandal and Turmeric, Mortein Insta and Colgate Dental Cream forayed at sixth and ninth spot with 9314, 9025 and 8245 insertions respectively. Trivago and Dettol Toilet Soaps slipped to seventh and tenth spot with 9201 and 7938 insertions respectively.
