The countdown for the 11th Auto Expo begins. Auto Expo 2012 is all set to vroom into action from January 5 to 11, 2012 at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan.

“The auto industry is becoming the pride of the Indian industry, in fact it is becoming a major player internationally,” observed Rajive Kaul, Chairman, Steering Committee, Auto Expo 2012. International attention on the Indian automotive industry is at its peak today. In contrast to the developed markets that are stagnant or declining, India is one of the few markets that showing growth, and also has a vast growth potential in the near future. Almost every foreign vehicle manufacturer has a presence in India and those who do not have, are expected to enter shortly.

“All eyes 2012are currently on India,” reiterated S Sandiliya, President, SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers Association of India). “Based on the feedback, we have made changes this time,” he added.

They come from far-flung countries like – Canada, Belarus, people’s Republic of China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and UAE. The Indian component industry too has spread to international markets. Today global players exist side-by-side with their Indian counterparts. So, global component manufacturers like Visten, Delphi, magna, Continental exist along with the Indian manufacturers. Tyre majors like Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Dunlop, Continental are seen along with Indian brands like Apollo, JK, MRK and others.

Around 1500 participants from 24 countries will be taking part in this show. Companies from Germany, People’s Republic of China, Canada, France, Italy, Japan and UK have confirmed their participation, as Chandrajit Banerjee disclosed.
