Amartya Sen speaks at Express Adda in Delhi

An economist-philosopher and a leading voice on politics and justice, Dr Amartya Sen took centrestage at Express Adda held at India Habitat Center, Delhi on 20th December 2014.

A masterful speaker, Dr. Sen took questions on a staggering range of issues: from government policies related to subsidies, healthcare and education; inflation and economic growth to his association with Kolkata; his understanding on Sanskrit as a language, each nuanced with his unique perspective.

Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen also spoke candidly about his views on PM Narendra Modi and former PM Manmohan Singh, and their policies in a two hour conversation moderated by The Indian Express Contributing Editor Pratap Bhanu Mehta and Deputy Editor Seema Chishti.

The evening saw a huge turnout, with the city’s "matteratti" including corporates, diplomats, artists, lawyers, politicians, intellectuals and advertising honchos attending this special edition of Express Adda.
