Rajul Kulshreshtha launches media advisory company, The Consilium

After spending nearly six years as a consultant with Orange Plus Media Solutions, and having grown the business to a top line of almost 200 crores, Rajul Kulshreshtha has now decided to launch the second leg of his entrepreneurial journey. 

Kulshreshtha has started a media advisory company called The Consilium. He believes that the race to the bottom is over. Broadcasters are beginning to say no and advertisers are beginning to realise that there is no such thing as a lowest rate. The industry he believes is bound to take a turn for the better. A turn that will perhaps take him where he started from. One in which intellect and talent will play a major role. He wants to be there when this happens, hence the move to such a positioning. “The Consilium is strictly speaking not an agency in the traditional sense. It is an advisory service that looks at marketing from a media perspective and not so much as media from a marketing perspective,” explains Kulshreshtha.

He further adds, “Consilium in Latin means Counsel, Advisory. A role perhaps best essayed by Tom Hagen in the Godfather – The Consiglieri. The Consilium strives to be just that for clients.” And while this is new for the industry he believes that it has a chance to make a difference. “We have had some initial success already and that motivates me to believe that I am on the right track. It will take time and I am ready for it,” says Kulshreshtha.

Prior to starting his own business, Kulshreshtha has worked with agencies such as McCann Erickson, Universal McCann, GroupM, Kinetic - India, to name a few.  He is currently based out of Delhi.
