The 12th edition of the Pitch CMO Summit - Mumbai returns to the Maximum City with its 12th edition, to be held on Friday, February 28, 2020, at Taj Santacruz (from 11 am onwards).
The theme of the Summit this year is ‘The Big Brand Story’. The Summit will feature stories of legacy and iconic brands that have embraced change and transformed their business to remain relevant to these times. Also featured will be stories of new-age brands that have understood the Indian consumer and have used traditional and new platforms to form a connection to today’s consumer. This year, the Pitch CMO Summit – Mumbai stage will be graced will eminent marketers from brands that have made a deep connect with consumers.
Kicking off the Summit as our Keynote Speaker, is a man who requires no introduction to anyone in the media & marketing space, Sunil Kataria, CEO – India and SAARC, Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) – a brand that has probably been used by every Indian at one point or the other. He has diverse work experience across the FMCG and Consumer Services sectors in Sales, Marketing and business roles. Kataria is Chairman of the Indian Society of Advertisers and closely associated with the CMO forum, FICCI FMCG Committee and Advertising Standards Council of India.
Our second Keynote Session will be delivered by Chris Hirst, Global CEO, Havas Creative. A change agent, Hirst is widely recognized as an innovative and inspirational leader with a proven track record of leading transformation. While studying at Harvard Business School, Hirst developed his now-proven approach to leadership. He believes in the principles of an open culture – where people are given permission to take risks and make mistakes. He is actively engaged in broadening the appeal of the advertising industry and sees diversity and social mobility as key factors in the future health of the creative industries.
A brand that has disrupted the Lifestyle Electronics space in India is boAt Lifestyle. The company has captured its TG, particularly millennials for whom boAt has become a part of their everyday lifestyle. At the Summit, we have the brain behind the brand Aman Gupta, Co-founder, boAt Lifestyle whose eclectic work experience speeded his decision to “build a brand of his own”. Sensing the need for smart, efficient, stylish and durable mobile wearables and hearables Gupta teamed up with Sameer Mehta to launch boAt inSunil2015. The current product portfolio includes mobile accessories centred specifically on smartphones across audio (wired and wireless headsets, Bluetooth and portable speakers) and connector (car and wall chargers and cables.
Marketing of alcohol beverages in India is a huge challenge. However, despite the restrictions brands in this space have built the brand with innovations being the focus. Telling us more is Julie Bramham who leads the Marketing function at Diageo India and is also a member of its Executive Committee. As the Chief Marketing Officer, Julie oversees marketing and innovation for Diageo India’s wide range of award-winning beverage alcohol portfolio. An experienced marketer and general manager with a strong track record of delivering results in the beer and spirits industry, Bramham has a wide range of experience of working across Europe and Africa.
If there is one brand that has made a noise in India’s uber-competitive smartphone segment is Xiaomi. Recounting the Xiaomi’s story is Anuj Sharma, Head of Marketing, Xiaomi. Sharma has over 15 years of experience in the technology domain, having had a long stint at Lenovo & Motorola, where he played various roles, including heading online sales, product marketing & product management.
Representing another iconic company is Sukhleen Aneja, CMO & Marketing Director, Hygiene Home, RB South Asia. With over 16 years of experience in the field of Sales & Marketing, Aneja has led diverse teams at top FMCG conglomerates. She is responsible for handling marketing operations for RB Hygiene Home portfolio across India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka, In her current role, Aneja has been anchoring power brands like Harpic, Lizol, Vanish and Mortein, and has been a force behind various award-winning campaigns while delivering strong business results. Noteworthy amongst these are Cannes and Effies for Durex & Harpic. While excelling in Sales & Marketing across multiple categories and geographies, Aneja has been driving purpose with Banega Swachh India and has led the more recent campaign on water conservation- Mission Paani.
Also taking centre-stage is Jeremy Smart, Head of Alliance, Asia Pacific & Japan at IBM in support of Acoustic. As the Head of Partner Ecosystem, he is responsible for Partnership ecosystem growth within the region, for the new business formed by Centerbridge Partners L.P., that will deliver the modern, comprehensive portfolio of solutions to meet the CMO's biggest challenges across marketing and advertising.
Finally, we have the brand that revolutionized how India watches Television. Sharing her insights is Prathyusha Agarwal, Chief Consumer Officer (CCO), ZEEL who drives viewer led brand and business growth for the company. She leads the marketing function for the Domestic Broadcast business while spearheading key strategic initiatives and driving marketing capabilities across the company.
The Summit will be followed by Laqshya Pitch CMO Awards 2020 where leading CMOs will be awarded who have demonstrated leadership in building, leading and motivating a high performing marketing organization.
