Net sales drive P&G Q1 growth, profits up 21% at Rs 55 cr
The company's growth was spearheaded by the Health Care & Feminine Hygiene categories, with Vicks & Whisper delivering sales momentum & growing market share
Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care has maintained its growth momentum in the quarter ended September 30, 2013. The company has delivered net sales of Rs 494 crore as against Rs 375 crore in the previous year. Profit after tax stood at Rs 55 crore, up by 21 per cent.
It may be noted here that Procter & Gamble follows the July-June financial year.
Growth was broad-based with both Feminine Care and Health Care posting double digit results. Strong sales were driven by providing meaningful consumer propositions, strong marketing programmes and a high consumption season. The Old Spice launch has been adding incremental growth in line with expectations.
Sharing perspective on the results for the quarter, Shantanu Khosla, Managing Director, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care said, “In an evolving business environment, the company has yet again delivered robust growth this quarter, through innovations in product and marketing.
