Zee MGM to source movies from other studios

Zee MGM is keeping its doors open to sourcing films from other movie studios as well. The agreement with MGM allows Zee to pick up good movies from other sources too. It may be a little early in the day for Zee, to embark on such an exercise. However, Zee will be reviewing periodically to judge its future requirements as far as value additions are concerned.

With the market dynamics undergoing a change, the stress will be on providing quality entertainment. To further widen the gamut of genres, the existing library would be interspersed with interesting software from the archives of other studio names and Zee is not ruling out this possibility.

For the moment, the TV channel is in the process of “reinventing” itself. Reaching into the repertoire of 4,100 MGM feature films it has won access to, Zee is focusing on developing thematic programmes. Very soon, for instance, it will put on show an Alfred Hitchcock festival and movies centered on murder plots.
