TV18 declares 79% rise in net profit

TV18 on Tuesday announced a 79 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 2.4 crore for the quarter ended December 2000 as against Rs 1.4 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The operating income, however, rose 35 per cent to Rs 2.8 crore from Rs 2 crore. Other income shot up to Rs 93 lakh as against Rs two lakh. Operating margins were down from 44.3 per cent to 31.2 per cent.

TV18, a content provider, produces television software for CNBC India. The company gets revenues also from advertising and entertainment programming to other channels like SABe TV.
