TV game show rivalry hots up with Chappar Phaad Ke

Round one, which saw the launch of Zee TV’s Sawaal Dus Crore Ka (SDCK) to counter Star Plus’ Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), has so far gone to KBC. Sony, now the No. 2 channel after Star Plus, has been more sensible. Instead of panicking and rushing out with an unsatisfactory copy, it has taken its time to announce Chappar Phad Ke, which will go on air in January. The game show is totally dissimilar to KBC, it has more fun and entertainment. The channel has decided to play on the strength of street-smart Govinda, a complete anthithesis to the classy Amitab Bachchan.
