Television Eighteen profit up by 9.7 per cent

Television Eighteen India Ltd (TV18) has ended the year 2001-2002 with a 9.7 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 3.49 crore as compared to Rs 3.18 crore in the previous year.

Total income for the year rose to Rs 32.2 crore from Rs 21.32 crore in the earlier year.

For the fourth-quarter, TV18's net fell by six per cent to Rs 1.25 crore from Rs 1.33 crore in the year-ago period. Total income during this quarter dropped to Rs 8.15 crore (Rs 9.87 crore). However, the consolidated figures of the TV18 group show a net loss of Rs 1.7 crore for the year ended March 31, 2002. In the fourth-quarter, the group has reported a net profit of Rs 0.4 crore.
