Star TV for fresh look at DTH guidelines

News Television has approached the government to take a fresh look at the recently announced guidelines on direct-to-home (DTH). An indication to this effect was given by News Television chief executive officer Peter Mukherjea at the India Economic Summit. Speaking to the media persons Mukherjea said that there is room for some modifications in the existing guidelines. DTH is high investment business and it has long term gestation period. However he was non-committal on whether the current guideline would restrict FDI inflow in the new sector.
