Sony ropes in Madhuri Dixit to anchor Shubh Vivaah

Sony Entertainment Television has roped in Madhuri Dixit to host a new reality TV show on marriage Shubh Vivaah. Last year Zee was close to signing up the cine star for its now-aborted game show Sawaal Dus Crore Ka.

Shubh Vivaah will not be the only marriage-related show on the small screen. Doordarshan also plans to launch Swayamvaar, a match-making reality TV show, on the national channel towards the year-end.

Sony's programme is being produced by United TV while the DD show is made by TV software company promoted by Vinod Khanna.

Madhuri show is expected to replace the existing Govinda-hosted game show Jeeto Chaapar Phaar Ke which has been losing steam over the weeks. Though the channel is mum over the fate of JCPK, industry sources say that its performance would be reviewed over the next one month.

Sony the new show would be mounted on a much bigger scale than the existing Govinda show. The channel is yet to disclose the format of the show but promises lot of goodies and excitement for the viewer.
