Prasar Bharati yet to take decision on bids for feature films on DD

Prasar Bharati is stuck with another round of delay as far as showing ‘quality’ feature films is concerned. The process of selecting bidders has come to a complete stand still. Prasar Bharati had invited the bids in February without setting a floor price and films supplied by the selected bidders were scheduled to be telecast by April1. But there’s no decision yet on awarding the contracts.

According to the Prasar Bharati, the authorities have decided to reevaluated the bids. The Prasar Bharati CEO, Mr. Anil Baijal, has formed a fresh committee to look into the bids all over again. The new committee, to be headed by Mr. B K De, Chief Engineer, DD, has already been formed. But the process of re-evaluating the bids will take time.
