Mythological serials to be the thrust area for Doordarshan

Mythological programmes will continue to be a thrust area for Doordarshan, according to the Prasar Bharati sources. Various factors that are kept in mind while approving the mythological serials include concept and storyline of the programme; production value / quality of the programme; commercial visibility of the programme; and programme requirement of Doordarshan.

Although 10 proposals were sent for approval last year, only two serials have been approved. The approved serials are ‘Jai Ganga Maiya’ and ‘Jap Tap Vrat’.
