Indian operations contribute 50% of BBC sponsored revenue

The Indian operations contribute close to 50 per cent of BBC World’s global revenues from sponsored programmes.

The global revenues of BBC World comprises of income from advertisements and sponsorships. Of this, approximately 35 per cent of the revenues come from the Asian operations.

The channel also plans to increase the number of business programmes by about one-and-a-half hours a day after a recent ORG-MARG survey showed that BBC World was the most viewed television channel in India.
