ETC spins off news unit into separate firm

Entertainment Channel ETC Network spun off its news division—Ruperistan—into a separate company last week. The move has been prompted by the decision to emerge as a content provider apart from being a broadcaster. At present, the company is supplying news to ETC Channel and DD’s marathi channel ‘Sahyadri’. It produces a daily new programme called Saransh from Monday to Friday. For DD’s national main channel, Ruperistan is providing a 15 minute weekily news capsule in Marathi called ‘Magoa’.
