DD, AIR to telecast one-hour women-based programmes every dayDoordarshan

Doordarshan and All India Radio have started airing women-based programmes from March 8 on the occasion of Women's Day. Both Doordarshan and AIR will devote one hour daily on these programmes, according to Information and Broadcasting Minister Ms Sushma Swaraj. The minister has said that all media units of the I&B ministry would mount special programmes for women throughout the year, which has been declared as the `Year of Women Empowerment'. A calendar of events is being prepared in this regard.
