TV show Maanada Mayilada awarded Guinness Certificate

The reality dance competition show, Maanada Mayilada, has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records for having achieved the largest Ames Room Illusion feat. This feat has been achieved for the first time in the television industry, worldwide.

Maanada Mayilada, the dance competition show telecast on Sundays on Kalaignar TV which is in its 10th leg of its marathon race. Many participants in the previous seasons of this reality show have found a place on the silver screen. Directed by ace film choreographer Kala Master, this show now has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.

The officials from the above organisation visited AVM studios on April 18, 2015 where the shooting was going on for the reality show. As part of the show, an illumination was created where characters were shown in different dimensions. Applying their yardsticks for recognition of any event as a world feat, the team finally conferred the Guinness Certificate for Maanada Mayilada for having executed a record feat in conformity with the rules set for the largest Ames Room Illusion.

This is the first time any reality show has been conferred with a certificate by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Lucia Sinigagliesi, the adjudicator for Guinness, who flew down from London for the event, pronounced formally and handed over the certificate to P Amirtham, director of the Kalaignar TV Network.
