Sportzworkz to produce the Aircel Chennai Open 2011 for IMG

India’s first and only ATP World Tour event – Aircel Chennai Open – is once again set to host some exciting tennis action, and Sportzworkz will be producing this event for IMG, to be held from January 3-9, 2011, at the SDAT Tennis Stadium in Nungambakkam, Chennai.

Ravi Krishnan, MD, IMG South Asia, Senior Vice President, IMG, the owners and organisers of this international ATP tennis event, said, “Aircel Chennai Open 2011 has one of the most open and competitive line-ups in the history of the tournament and we are pleased to have Sportzworkz on the board, who will be producing the event for us. Hope TV audiences across the globe will get an unforgettable experience of this event.”

Sportzworkz, a television production house, is dedicated to providing production and live broadcast services. For more than a decade, Sportzworkz has been providing the tools, technologies and the services that their clients need to be successful in the highly competitive live broadcast and post production business. Sportzworkz has recently successfully concluded the live production of the Punjab Premier League and the PSA & WISPA Squash Masters that concluded in India.

For the first time, Aircel Chennai Open has also introduced online ticketing and will use the Hawk-eye technology at the 2011 event. Hawk-eye technology will be introduced to create a unique and exciting experience for both players and fans at the venue and the global telecast viewers.

The $450,000 Aircel Chennai Open has established itself as the premier ATP tournament in South Asia. In its 16th year now, the event will feature an impressive line-up of tennis stars, both Indian and international, who will vie for one of the first ATP titles of the new season.
