Indiatimes is entering into the discount coupons space with the launch of their new Active Deals service, which is built around the company’s 58888 mobile service. Users will be able to search for deals using SMS, IVR and WAP, and have the coupons delivered directly to their phones via SMS.
Active Deals will offer daily deals which can be accessed by the mobile phone without requiring internet access or even WAP connectivity, though there is support for both as well, and company believes that this will help them reach a far larger share of the consumer base.
The main objective of Active Deals was to introduce a mobile platform that becomes one of the largest market place for all the deals and discounts available across different brands, categories and cities. They also provide M-coupons for Deals and Discounts that can be delivered and redeemed via SMS.
Users can also subscribe to receive daily SMS alerts, either by sending an SMS or calling 58888088, or even visiting the website for unlimited deals. They can receive coupons via SMS without requiring any online payments.
Users can browse city/category of choice of deals via 4 different channels, depending on convenience – SMS, IVR, WAP and Web. Active Deals also provide users to download as many coupons as he/she wants for free of cost.
