Euo RSCG scoops the creative mandate for Baskin Robbins

Following a multi-agency pitch, Baskin Robbins, the ice cream brand has appointed Euro RSCG India to handle its creative business. The business will be serviced out of Euro RSCG Mumbai branch office. The other agencies that had participated in the pitch included the incumbent agency- Thought Blurb and Rediffusion Y&R.

Confirming the appointment, Ashwin Uppal, GM Marketing , South Asia, Baskin-Robbins, in a prepared statement said, “Our brand has been in India since 17 years. While we’ve managed to have a strong presence in India, the changing consumer and market landscape coupled with a desire to reinvigorate the brand were the key reasons for us to look for a new creative partner. Therefore, we called for a multi-agency pitch and eventually zeroed down on Euro RSCG to be our creative agency. We are a fun brand and the Euro RSCG team being young and energetic fits well with our brand philosophy. We look forward to a fruitful work experience with the Euro RSCG team.”

Elated on the win, Shavon Barua, Director, Mumbai, Euro RSCG, said, “Everyone at Euro RSCG Mumbai, is truly excited to work on a fun brand like Baskin Robbins, and I personally have been a huge fan of the Bavarian chocolate flavor. So here’s hoping for interesting, engaging work and many scoops of ice-cream.”

It may be recalled that very recently, Euro RSCG India had also acquired the Durex and Scholl business in November 2010, following Reckitt Benckiser taking over the two brands, thus benefitting the agency from global alignment. Now with Baskin Robbin being added to EuroRSCG India kitty, some of the other clients that the agency handles includes Reckitt Benckiser, sanofi-aventis, HDFC Bank, BPCL, Air France, Max New York Life amongst others.
