Here’s what the newbies, as well as some young adlanders, expect over the next three days:

Honestly, I’m going with no expectations. From what I’ve heard about Goafest, it surprises you and I’m keeping an open mind. Networking, parties and meeting some of the best talents in the industry is what I’ll look out for. A first timer should keep their eyes and ears open to everything around them since there’s so much happening at each given point. Let the vibes motivate you to come back every year and get on stage more and more.

-Mehul Gupta, Co-Founder & Director, SoCheers

Coming from an engineering background, I was new to advertising and completely oblivious about the word ‘Goafest’, which was thrown around rather frequently in my agency. When some of my colleagues attended it last year, I suffered from a severe case of FOMO, as their Instagram profiles were flooded with the coolest stories. I heard tales about how this three-day gala celebrates the best of advertising and about how master classes and knowledge sessions by industry stalwarts was the best way to learn about where the industry is headed. I would be blatantly lying if I said that my seniors didn’t give me a tip or two on how to party by the beach at Goa too! Being a first-timer at Goafest, I’m super stoked to attend the various events they have in store for us. I’m also looking forward to meeting a bunch of fun, whacky, creative people and learn a lot from them while also trying to party hard and stay awake.

-Benedict Gershom, Copywriter, Dentsu Webchutney

I am looking forward to the knowledge-sharing and meeting some of the most brilliant and creative minds of the industry. The learner in me is very enthusiastic to see the speaker line-up this year. I want to engage in conversations that can turn advertisers into friends and also get to know the secret behind the big winning ideas.

-Esha Tiwari, Senior Copywriter, Isobar

Goafest is one of the most iconic events in the marketing and advertising world. You don't always get an opportunity to converse with global industry leaders who share their wealth of knowledge and experience. Unlike any other event, the speakers are not just from advertising, but also from other spheres like technology, sports, etc. Also, I’m really looking forward to hitting Gold at Goafest 2019 for team Mindshare. First-timers should definitely interact with people from other domains, as it is a goldmine of an opportunity. Plus, it’s that time of the year to celebrate and have a blast at Goafest!

-Utkarsh Sahu, Digital Marketing Manager, Mindshare.

What I look forward to at this year’s Goafest is attending the knowledge seminars and learning more about the creative ecosystem from global leaders, as it helps broaden our creative scope and inspires us enough to apply our creative minds to the fullest, to create brilliant campaigns. As a first-timer at Goafest, I want to engage myself in the various craft and creativity workshops, and also interact with Bollywood’s rising stars. It will be also be a great opportunity to attend the grand event and interact with other media agencies, media houses, and global leaders.

-Lakshada Dali, Media Planner, Madison.

Goafest has been a hallmark event for so many years now, and I’m just expecting it to live up to its standards. I have heard a lot of things about this fest and I’m looking forward to meeting all the new people, picking their brains, making contacts, and of course, enjoying the food. Being a PR enthusiast and a content creator, I’m planning to shoot the whole journey and capture the moments in reel and real life. I want to maximise this chance to squeeze out as much as I can from it.

-Mohd. Zeeshan, Senior PR Executive, iProspect.

The motivational speeches and speaker topics related to media and other great performances are what I look forward to at Goafest this year. As a first-timer, I want to experience new things to the fullest, so that I can go home with a bag full of good memories. Keeping an open mind, I am very excited about the upcoming 2019 Goafest.

-Krishnanngi Vagel, Media Planner, Madison Digital.

I will be attending Goafest for the first time and I’ve heard a lot about it from my industry friends. I look forward to the knowledge panels, gigs, networking with industry specialists and of course the awards nights. Our Group has multiple nominations and so I’m hoping for the best. See you at Goafest!

-Chandni Sachdev, Account Group Head, Rapport Outdoor Advertising.

For the most part of my career, I’ve been a designer and so I've never had the opportunity to attend Goafest. But with my first set of Goafest shortlists, I now realise how this festival has constantly been pushing the industry to do high craft work. So, besides the beer being chilled and the prawns fresh, what I expect from my first Goafest is my first win, to make the beer sweeter. I also expect to immerse myself in cool work, to help make the summer bearable. Most importantly, I expect this Goafest to surprise me and reaffirm my love for advertising.

-Gia Fernandes, Creative Group Head, FCB Ulka

Goafest is a celebration of good work done in the advertising, media and the marketing sector. This is my first visit to Goafest and I am really excited as my team has three nominations for American Tourister and so I’m really looking forward to the Media Abby night. In addition, I’m quite excited to be part of the festivities amongst the who’s who of the industry. My ultimate motive is to get inspired, leverage learning and apply the learnings to my work.

-Shaswat Mishra, Group Head, Initiative
