Videocon Mobile Services ramps up mobile content

Videocon Mobile Services announced today that they have partnered with mobile media company BuzzCity to provide more mobile content to subscribers. Videocon's VAS offerings will now include content from BuzzCity's portals, which include games and apps, and specialized portals like Now-Cook and JAMsked, which help people track recipes and access live music events around India.

Videocon believes that mobile content leadership is the future of mobile VAS, and will provide consumers with a strong value proposition for remaining loyal to the brand.

“At Videocon, we see ourselves as a key player in the evolving dynamics of the mobile internet media. As a part of our vision of transforming mobile VAS in India that goes beyond just ringtones and wallpapers, this new partnership with BuzzCity has been done to provide more quality avenues for the brand to engage with its consumers. The products demonstrates how mobile content can be used to better engage consumers in creative ways which in turn help to drive brand loyalty,” said Sunil Tandon - Chief Marketing Officer, Videocon Mobile Services.

“This is a crucial moment in the evolution of India’s mobile internet,” said Dr KF Lai, BuzzCity’s CEO. “We’re seeing fast-paced change, and strong growth. Stakes are high for the networks, with fierce competition and steadily lowering ARPU.”
He added, “Consumers are more aware and demanding now, and to be honest, very few networks are giving them any good reasons to be loyal. Companies like Videocon, however, are the exception – they’re investing in the consumer experience, providing rich content and value added services, and inspiring the loyalty that will ensure they survive and thrive, when the country’s telecoms market starts to consolidate. Only by listening very closely to what makes consumers happy, can carriers be sure to win in the long run.”
