Tulip Travel services launches new online travel portal, Xplorz.com

This may show the way forward for offline travel companies in India. Tulip Travel Services Pvt Ltd has launched a new travel portal Xplorz.com, touted as ‘India’s first real time online travel portal’. The portal claims to provide fully automated online ticket booking with no time lag between booking and delivery.

“The portal will be the only online e-ticket provider in India, whereby a customer can use the P3 method of booking – Pick, Pay and Print. This would enable customers to print their own e-ticket online The flight booking will be done instantly and the customer can even book their seat and meal preference through the site. The portal also offers competitive fares as well as special negotiated fares for its customers. We believe this site will particularly appeal to business and corporate travelers, who will have full flexibility to make last minute travel arrangements and changes,” said Vikram Ramchand, CEO, Xplorz.com.

Ramchand informed that at present the company was privately funded, but refused to reveal the amount of investment or the stakeholder’s name. “In the second phase of our funding, we are in talks with venture funds to raise around $10 million,” he added.

Asked how he would compete with other well-established travel portals like Makemytrip.com and Travelguru.com, Ramchand replied, “We are not new to the travel business. We have been in the industry for the past 17 years in the offline travel agency business. We understand this business well and believe in providing overall customer satisfaction.”
