Team Zapak & Media Contacts win the Mumbai round of ‘DQ, Will you Click’ 2010

Praneeth Reddy of Media Contacts and Zapak’s Eklavya Bhattacharya have their ‘digital quotient’ bang on as the team comprising the duo was declared winner of the Mumbai round of the inaugural ‘DQ, Will you Click’. The Digital Quiz, which was held on March 11, is an initiative of the exchange4media Group, and covered all aspects of the digital world – Internet, mobile, gaming, animation, and technology, among others.

Microsoft Advertising was the presenting sponsor, while Zapak and 160by2 were the co-sponsors. Bloomberg UTV was the broadcast sponsor. The other sponsors included e-Zone and Tyroo, while Rashi Entertainment was the event partner. Stylekandy was the style partner.

Mahesh Murthy of Pinstorm and Sunil Lulla of Times Global Broadcasting played the perfect hosts of evening and taxed the grey cells of the participants and the crowd alike with their questions.

The quiz comprised a preliminary round to shortlist six teams for the finals of the Mumbai round. The other regional rounds of the ‘DQ, Will you Click’ Quiz will be held in Bangalore and Delhi. The top two teams of each regional round would then fight it out at the grand finale, which will be held in Delhi on March 19, 2010.

For the Mumbai round each team comprised two members and there were a total six teams. Besides Reddy and Bhattacharya, the other five teams comprised eBay Inc’s Abhimanyu Lal and Rajen Prabhav; Pinstorm’s Jayakrishanna R and Crisil’s Dhananjay S; Tata Capital’s Govind Grewal and IMRB International’s Ameya Samang; and Buffetts Straws’ Balakrishnan S and Reshma Nayak.

The Mumbai regional was divided into nine rounds – Warm-up round; Run-up round; Bharat Mata Ki Jai round; Threesome – Time; Graphic Traffic; Penultimate and Ultimatum.

Some of the interesting questions asked included ‘Recently, who tweeted to whom: “1 billion...u r nuts my friend… completely absolutely mad and wonderful”; another question asked was ‘He came from the textile business and then threw it up to enter the digital industry. He co-produced the movie ‘99’. He also published a book ‘I too had a love story’, written by one of his customers. Who is he?’; and ‘The leading magazine about hacking in the world is called ‘2600’. Why?’

With the first regional round completed in Mumbai, ‘DQ, Will you Click’ now moves to Bangalore for the next regionals on March 12 and will be held at the Lalit Ashok.
