Music composer Pritam makes digital debut with #fame 'Websinger'

Music maestro Pritam is all set to make his digital debut, with #fame ‘Websinger’, India’s first digital show to discover and showcase the next wave of superstar singers. This year long digital initiative will see Pritam as the chief judge and mentor to the participants. The show will also bring together some of the most loved names in the music industry, all in pursuit to find the music stars of tomorrow. This show forms part of #fame’s plan to emerge as Asia’s premier talent led digital entertainment network over the next three years. Catering to mobile millenials, #fame’s network will straddle over 5,000 channels and 50,000 content creators across 6 countries.

Known for chartbusters like “Balam Pichkari” and “lat lag gayi”, Pritam is one of India’s top music composers and singers, well-acclaimed for his versatility and penchant for delivering hits regularly. Music has quickly emerged as one of the most consumed digital content across the world and #fame Websinger marks Pritam’s first association with a digital music initiative.

On why he chose Websinger to make his digital debut, Pritam said, “I believe in the power of talent and the reach of digital. Music fans are increasingly discovering great work on digital and social media first. And there is a whole new generation of artists who are waiting to be discovered. Websinger will be the perfect platform for them to make an impact on a global stage.”

He further adds, “I came across the #fame music anthem online, thought it was really quirky and fun, reflecting the spirit of today’s youth. Websinger is all about this spirit.”  You can catch the #fame anthem at www.youtube.com/livfamemusic.

Saket Saurabh, CEO, #fame said, “Music is one of the most consumed genres on digital and it resonates strongly with the youth. All #fame IPs epitomize our ‘talent-first’ philosophy and Websinger will also achieve this objective. It will discover and showcase India’s most talented emerging singers throughout the year. Pritam is an icon in music and one of the most versatile artists we have and we are really excited to have him lead Websinger.”

Apart from Websinger, #fame has also announced a slew of digital properties aimed at identifying and promoting emerging talent. This includes ‘School of Style’, India’s first online hunt for top fashionistas with Karan Johar, ‘Gang No.1’, a search for top comedy collectives and the second season of ‘Webchef’, the country’s largest online hunt for amateur chefs. Apart from these properties, #fame’s network includes several interesting digital shows and channels with emerging and celebrity talent. Celebrities that have signed up with #fame include TV star Maria Goretti, child comic star Saloni, top model, actress and fashion icon Anusha Dandekar, celebrity chef Ajay Chopra, singing sensation Shibani Kashyap and style guru VJ Andy. #fame also has channels with fitness icon and fashion model Milind Soman and renowned sports commentator Harsha Bhogle.
