MobiKwik elevates Mrinal Sinha to Chief Operating Officer; appoints Manish Chaturvedi as Chief Sales Officer

MobiKwik, India’s largest independent mobile payments network, announced key executive appointments to accelerate growth and transform how MobiKwik provides value to its 25 million users and 50,000+ merchants. The company announced the appointment of Manish Chaturvedi, ex-American Express, as their Chief Sales Officer. In this role, Chaturvedi will lead partnerships with retailers at MobiKwik. He will be responsible for driving acceptance of MobiKwik wallet across formats and industries besides managing key initiatives with banks and government entities. An alumnus of Delhi University’s Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Chaturvedi is a veteran in the payments business with more than two decades of experience. He was most recently Director-Global Merchant Services at American Express.

In another key announcement, MobiKwik announced the elevation of Mrinal Sinha, who joined MobiKwik in 2014 as MobiKwik’s Head of Strategy, to the position of Chief Operating Officer. He was earlier leading the strategic roadmap of the company, identifying key opportunities for talent and technology acquisition and focusing on alliances to kick start new revenue lines within the company. His new position as COO will involve directing, administering, and coordinating the operational activities of the business in line with the policies, goals, and objectives established for the company. Sinha will also have the mandate to drive multiple CXO-level functions at MobiKwik.

Commenting on the hiring, Bipin Preet Singh, Founder CEO, MobiKwik said: “We are very pleased to welcome Manish to the MobiKwik team. Given his extensive experience in building retail payments network, which delivered a delightful user experience and scaled to millions of users, he is an excellent addition to lead our future efforts at expanding partnerships with retailers. On the elevation of Mrinal Sinha, Bipin Preet Singh added, “In the last one year, Mrinal has demonstrated real value in driving business and put in an outstanding performance since he joined MobiKwik. Hence the decision to put him at the helm of affairs at MobiKwik was natural.”

Sinha has over 11 years of work experience, and prior to MobiKwik, he had co-founded Brattle Foods, a food supply chain solutions and logistics business. Before that, he was the manager, corporate strategy at EMC Corporation. He had earlier worked at companies like ICICI Venture, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, and McKinsey & Company. He holds a dual degree (Master’s and Bachelor’s in Technology) from IIT-Madras, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
