Media professional Balaji V launches new educational website

Seasoned media professional Balaji V, who has worked with prominent publications including the International New York Times and The Times of India, has launched an educational website, www.grade1to6.com.

‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’- This quote by Nelson Mandela remains one of the most relevant in India today with the foundation of every state being the education of its youth. With the advent of the digital era, we cannot ignore the power that digital learning can give the youth today to change the world positively, and this is what www.grade1to6.com aims to do.

Learning through structured, comprehensive worksheets is one key way to develop children’s understanding of subject matter, and www.grade1to6.com is meant for parents, teachers, and students in grade 1 to 6 all over the world, offering thousands of printable work sheets. The worksheets focus to strengthen the fundamentals and basics in subjects like Mathematics, English, Science, Activities and GK, with a complete curriculum covering US, UK, Singapore, IB, ICSE, CBSE and states board syllabus of most states, with content added regularly.

Over 5000 worksheets in www.grade1to6.com  are organised grade wise in a quick easy and cost effective way giving working parents and busy teachers easy access to global content. The content of the aesthetically designed sheets was developed by a team of working professionals with the mission to encourage children to practice more worksheets to give them clear and sound understanding of the subject.

For a nominal fee per year, parents, teachers, and children can access the entire website. The content will also be completely free for all state and central government schools in India, Australia, America and the world at large, once the respective government or ministry expresses willingness to become part of this.

“Children will love this and it will be a very big boost to every student who wants to access global content in worksheets. I hope every teacher and parent grabs this opportunity,” said Balaji V.

Commenting on what made him launch this website, Balaji V added, “I was out of India for 18 months and on return, I noticed that my daughter, who is now in Grade 5, needed help with mathematics. Initially I wrote a few sums and gave it to her to practice but after a few days I couldn’t come up with more options to make her practice at home.  When I Googled, I saw a few worksheet websites from the west and realised the importance of regularly doing worksheets and how children in India are losing out.  I then researched in depth for a month.  A handful of schools are using worksheets but most of them are not well organised.  My plan with this website is to create a world class worksheets website while also keeping the pricing very affordable. At Rs 1000 or USD 15 a year, one can access over 5000 aesthetically designed worksheets which will be useful for children across India.”

“Schools, parents and teachers can access our collection of worksheets, take printouts and give it to students to practice.  We have made the life of teachers and parents easy by offering these very useful worksheets. Even tutors can use it. In rural areas, one can view these sheets on mobile phones and write it down for children, making it easy to use,” said Balaji V.

The project has also collaborated with Akshayapatra, the free midday meal scheme that caters to over 1.6 million children every day in over 13,000 government schools in India.
