Manish Agarwal joins Reliance Entertainment - Digital as COO

Reliance Entertainment has appointed Manish Agarwal as Chief Operating Officer for their Digital business. He will be responsible for operations across Bigflix, Bigadda, Zapak and Jump Games, and will report to Reliance Entertainment Digital Business CEO Rohit Sharma.

Prior to this appointment, Agarwal was CEO of UTV New Media, which he had joined in 2009. After he left UTV New Media, it was rebranded UTV Interactive under MK Anand.

He has been in the industry for 14 years, of which six have in the digital sector and aside from UTV New Media, he has also worked with Microsoft and Rediff.

Rohit Sharma said, “With India at the digital inflection point, we are expecting huge growth in our gaming, VoD and e-commerce business across all platforms and all devices, be it mobile, PC or DTH. We believe that Manish’s tremendous experience in the digital space will help us in achieving significant scale and growth in our business.”

The company is clearly keeping an eye on the developments in 3G in particular, and commenting about his appointment, Agarwal said, “I am looking forward to joining Reliance Entertainment and working with the team in creating world class digital entertainment destinations. With the impending 3G era and the scale that Reliance Entertainment offers, I am excited with the opportunity of offering great consumer experience to millions of Indians consuming entertainment across all touch points.”
