Homeshop18 launches Next-Gen e-commerce portal

Homeshop18 has announced a new e-commerce portal for their virtual retail business, which aims to provide a more holistic user experience and leverage the television network’s mass reach and powerful logistics set-up to emerge as a key player in the online retail segment.

The new website integrates heavily with search engines and social marketing to help drive user acquisition, while relying on the network’s existing brand relations and catalogue to offer value.

As part of the re-launch of their webstore, HomeShop18 has tied up with Google, Yahoo, Bing, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and various other online shopping sites. The new look and technology upgrade have been the focus areas for its e-commerce business to support the expanding product range, categories and the steadily growing traffic on the website. HomeShop18 has also announced investments in a dedicated call centre to support its e-commerce business.

“The new website is user friendly with the fast downloading speed and will provide our visitors with a captivating interactive experience in examining the products as they shop. Add ons like Clearance Sale, Offer of the Day, and information on products on air will help the consumers to view lucrative offers at a glance,” he added.

To deal with issues like user trust in the website, Homeshop18 is offering options like Cash on Delivery and a no questions asked money back guarantee, which are fast becoming the industry standards for e-commerce in India, and the website plans to focus on international and national brands to ensure quality of deliveries.

The integration with social networks also means that users can share their shopping news on the social network of their choice and share updates about deals with their friends, while also getting special deals that are only available on those networks.
