Getting to know MediaMonks, Sir Martin Sorrell's First Buy

Dutch creative production company MediaMonks became a part of Sir Martin Sorrell’s new venture S4 Capital earlier this week. Sorrell is back in business as a Senior Monk at the company.

Although media reports are calling the transaction an acquisition, S4 Capital and MediaMonks are calling this coming together a “merger” that “seeks to create the digital platform of the future.” Founded in 2001 the company now on its website says “we never sold out, but are excited to buy in to the vision of Sir Martin Sorrell to create the next platform for our industry.”

The announcement on the London Stock Exchange states S4 Capital’s agenda as: “to create a new era, new media solution embracing data, content and technology, which meets client needs in an always-on environment.” MediaMonks which prides itself as being “rooted in digital” turned out to be Sorrell’s perfect purchase. The company is adept telling unique stories using technology winning accolades at various international award festivals for its work over the years.

The company’s homepage defines the type of work of company undertakes as: production of high-end films for both digital and television. It then goes on to declare: We entertain through film, we impress using technology.
