The SGH D500 from Samsung has won the 'Best Mobile Handset Award' from the GSM Association at the 3GSM World Congress at Cannes in France.

The SGH D500 from Samsung has won the 'Best Mobile Handset Award' from the GSM Association at the 3GSM World Congress at Cannes in France. The award recognises excellence in handset design and innovation. The D 500 won this award out of 61 nominees that included Razr V3 from Motorola, Research in Motion's Blackberry 7100 and Sony Ericsson's P910.

Accepting the award, Woonsub Kim, Executive VP, Samsung Telecommunications Network, said, "We are delighted to receive this award for Best Handset for the SGH-D500 phone.
