EazyDiner launches campaign to appreciate restaurant servers and chefs
The campaign aims to reward hospitality professionals with special prizes and training programmes to upskill them in their domain
EazyDiner, India’s leading restaurant reservation platform has rolled out its new campaign titled “#ThankTheStars”. The campaign seeks to recognise the servers and chefs in restaurants who work hard to make diners experience special. The campaign aims to reward servers and chefs across restaurants in India with special rewards and training programmes designed to upskill them in the hospitality domain. EazyDiner has partnered with leading hospitality chains and restaurant chains such as Taj, Marriott, Leela, Hyatt, Farzi Cafe, Cafe Delhi Heights, Mainland China, Lord of the Drinks, Barbeque Nation, Olive, and has over 10,000 restaurants across India which can be booked instantly, under 18 seconds.
Users on the EazyDiner app can now submit their feedback on servers and chefs about their experience at the restaurant. With every review the server gets points & at every milestone, they shall be rewarded with a badge and a certificate, recognizing the great service provided. Servers reaching a certain milestone are awarded the Golden, Platinum, Black and Orange Badge. Each Badge also brings with it a host of rewards designed to honour and upskill the servers. Servers can win a host of rewards such as training with leading Food & Beverage experts, a one on one mentorship session with top CEOs & food critics and an all-expense-paid trip to Singapore to eat and experience Michelin Star Restaurants. Users in return for their feedback stand to earn points on the EazyDiner app which allows them to redeem the same for a meal.
The campaign which went live recently will run on EazyDiner’s digital assets, in-restaurant OOH promotions and will be supplemented by an outdoor campaign across leading commercial and dining complexes.
As per data from The National Restaurant Association of India, the Indian restaurant industry employed around 7.3 million people in 2018-19. The Indian Restaurant industry is the third-largest service sector in India and is 20 times larger than the film industry. NRAI IFSR 2019 has estimated that the Indian foodservice industry’s market size at Rs 4,23,865 crore in 2018-19, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9 per cent to reach Rs 5,99,782 crore by 2022-23. Growing disposable incomes, increasing adoption of food tech and an increasing frequency of eating out has meant that the foodservice sector is a key job creator for the Indian Economy. A majority of servers across restaurants often work long hours for jobs that are contractual in nature. This leads to a high level of attrition in the industry and restaurants often end up in the vicious cycle of retraining new staff members which leads to additional costs borne by a restaurant.
Talking about the campaign, Rohit Dasgupta, CEO & co-founder, EazyDiner, said, “Servers are the unspoken heroes and the backbone of the Indian Restaurant Industry. With this campaign, we aim to highlight these silent heroes who make our dining experiences delightful. Along with the same, the industry also needs to upskill immediately in order to enhance the overall experience of diners and increase the number of repeat diners.”
