In an era of niche TV channels, Focus TV, touted as India’s first women-focused news and current affairs channel, is gearing up for launch by June this year. Meanwhile, the channel’s promoter, Positiv TV Media, has also unveiled plans to launch a Bhojpuri infotainment channel and a metro channel from Hyderabad by June.
Sahara News has entered into an agreement with Naman Communication to outsource the marketing of its regional news channel in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Naman Communication is an SPV in which Prabhatam Advertising and Kamaljit Singh Ahluwalia, a businessman with interests in mining, have a 50:50 stake.
Ashish Kaul, Executive Vice President, Corporate Brand Development, Zee Group has quit the group after a decade-long stint. Confirming the development, Kaul said, “After a decade-long association with the Group I have decided to move on. I have already put in my papers and am currently serving a one-month notice period.”

Sakaal Group of Newspapers is strengthening its product portfolio with an English daily, Sakaal Times, which is slated for launch in April. To be launched from Pune, Dilip Padgaonkar is the Editorial Director for the newspaper, while A N Sen is its Editor-in-Chief. The price of the newspaper has not been decided on yet.
The Tribune has launched its Bhatinda (Southern Punjab) edition on October 28. This follows the launch of its Haryana edition on September 14 this year. The Bhatinda edition is the sixth edition of The Tribune after Chandigarh, Delhi, Jalandhar, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.

The Haryana government has terminated its PR contract with Concept PR on the grounds of non-performance. The one-year contract has been scrapped two months prior to its expiry in June this year. The termination of the contract also coincides with the exit of Concept PR President Sanjey Roy.
