The digital juggernaut continues to roll on. It has been an interesting year for the digital ecosystem. There was some introspection as there was a rude awakening from age old concepts, while exciting new prospects gained even more popularity. With India having overtaken the US as the second largest internet population, the stage is all set for digital advertising.
The company’s Q3 profit declined 22.42% to Rs 971.4 crore from Rs 1,252.17 crore in the same quarter last year. Total Income increased from Rs. 7,894.390 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2014 to Rs. 8,120.60 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015.
Colors’ show ‘Naagin’ continued to garner the highest number of eyeballs in the first week of 2016 also. Zee TV’s show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ took a leap to the second spot from the fourth in week 1. The third spot was acquired by Star Plus’ show ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’
Advertising revenues for the quarter stood at Rs 941.9 crore, recording a growth of 26.8% over Q3 FY15. During the quarter, domestic advertising revenues stood at Rs 860.7 crore while international advertising revenues stood at Rs 81.2 crore. Operating profit (EBITDA) for the quarter stood at Rs 430.2 crore and EBITDA Margin stood at 27.0%. Profit after Tax (PAT) for the quarter ended December 31, 2015 was Rs 274.4 crore and PAT Margin stood at 17.2%.
