Big FM, the radio arm of Reliance Media World Ltd, has announced the elevation of Viplove Gupte to National Programming Head. Prior to this Gupte, has been part of the programming team at Big FM as Associate Vice President – Programming, since May 2008, and has been instrumental in shaping the on-air offerings from the radio station. He will report to Big FM CEO Tarun Katial.
Consolidating its focus on strategic thinking, Lintas Media Group (LMG) has unveiled ‘The Collaborative’. This is LMG’s central team that focuses on development and application of knowledge and systems for next generation media planning. This arm will be headed by Premjeet Sodhi, President, and shall continue to drive competitive advantage by application of media sciences in all aspects of the business.
Asianet Communications, part of Star India Network, is launching a dedicated television channel for the Middle-East audience christened Asianet Middle East. The channel is going on air with a soft launch on March 25. Currently, viewers of Asianet in the Middle-East will be offered the same programming schedules as that of the flagship channel in Kerala, Asianet TV.

Chandrasekar brings in 13 years of experience, of which he spent seven years with Britannia and three with Marico, besides his stint with Airtel.
The last couple of weeks have seen Star Plus and Colors involved in a tough battle for the numero uno spot. While both these channels are very bullish on their programming line-up, one has to take into account the loss of viewership due to IPL3. Colors, however, has tied up with IPL to create shows around the event in a bid to retain viewers who watch IPL.
