VSNL plans to launch DTH services by October

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited is planning to launch its direct-to-home (DTH) platform by October this year. The service is expected to target the high-end market and subscribers will have to incur expenses for the hardware and pay a monthly charge of Rs 800.

The company is talking to different television channels, including Sony for the new foray. It plans to invest Rs 4,000 crore-investment plan over the next two years for Internet, DTH and domestic long distance communication. The fund will come from internal accruals.
