The Advertising Club Bangalore readies for Big Bang 2008 on November 7

The Advertising Club Bangalore is gearing for its annual awards – Big Bang 2008. The awards recognise the fraternity for excellence in advertising and media. This year, Big Bang is slated to take place on November 7.

More than 31 agencies have sent entries for 33 categories, totalling nearly 500 entries. A panel of eight eminent judges, each having over 20 years' experience in advertising, marketing and media, have spent a gruelling weekend judging the entries. The panel judged the entries on three key parameters – originality of idea, creative execution and impact.

Sharing the details of the event, Arvind Kumar, Executive Director, Ad Club Bangalore, said, "It is heartening to note that the media entries have virtually doubled over last year. On the creative side, many medium sized agencies and new creative hot-shops have sent in entries, which is a welcome move."

"While the big majors of advertising were conspicuous by their absence, the medium sized creative hot-shops seem to have taken the mantle of hoisting the local talent," he added.

The event is open to all professionals from the fields of advertising, marketing and media, who are members of the Ad Club. The event is being organised by DNA Networks and presented by Bangalore Mirror. Dainik Bhaskar, afaqs and Radio One are the co-sponsors.
