Diageo India Pvt Ltd has consolidated its media duties with Starcom Worldwide. The leading brands of the business include names like Smirnoff Vodka and Johnnie Walker. The account was earlier divided between Lodestar Universal and Mediaedge:cia, who had been handling the business since November 2006. The account size is pegged in the region of Rs 18-20 crore.
When contacted, Santosh Kanekar, Head - Marketing, Diageo India, confirmed the development. He, however, refused to divulge further details.
Diageo, a global company, is in the premium drinks business with a collection of brands across spirits, wine and beer categories. These brands include Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Captain Morgan, Baileys, J&B, José Cuervo, Guinness and Crown Royal, among others.
Johnnie Walker and Smirnoff are the most visible brands of the company in India.
